West Palm Beach Amateur Radio Club

Since 1937 we have been a general interest club.

We have members interested in just about everything: ragchewing, contests, kit-building, antennas, digital modes, emergency communication, DXing, social time, community service, and other areas.

If you would like to join us or if you would like to become an Amateur Radio Operator (AKA a "Ham") please contact us.

For more information listen to the Tues (7:30 pm) , Wedn (8 pm), Saturday (7 pm) evening nets on the 146.670 repeater in West Palm Beach, FL or send an e-mail to the club secretary.

Operating: FIELD DAY THIS WEEKEND!!

Join us for Field Day - Saturday and Sunday, June 28th and 29th at John Prince Park in Lake Worth, FL. Setup starts Saturday morning around 10:00AM. Contesting begins at 2:00PM and goes for 24 hours. For more information, contact Jerry Grant at jgrant2@earthlink.net or 561-309-7272.

Operating: NEW D*STAR NET

Rex, KF4FAJ is now holding a simplex D-STAR net for West Palm Beach on Tuesdays at 8:00 PM or when the ragchew net ends, which ever is later.

The net is using the D-STAR calling frequency of 145.670.

Also the first local D-STAR repeater is now operational in Pompano Beach. The freq is 442.200 and the call is W4BUG.

Please pass this info along to anyone you know with D-STAR equipment. We would love to hear from them.

Click on Local Nets under the left hand menu for more local nets.

Operating: C.R.O.S. Ministries Walk

On Sunday, October 15th, five members of the Club turned out to provide communications for a walk up Flagler Drive. The event was organized by C.R.O.S. Ministries as a fund-raiser. Churches from as far away as Miami showed up to walk.

Education: Melbourne Hamfest

October 13th was the Melbourne Hamfest and the West Palm Beach Amateur Radio Club had a great showing. Rex and Paul went up with a car completely loaded with donated gear and some of their own. Sales were great and we sold about ten boxes worth of goodies

Operating: HF Operating Event a Great Success

Last Sunday, March 18, the WPB ARC hosted a HF “Get on the Air” event at two local ham stations.

Rex, KF4FAJ, and Mo, K9EE, graciously opened their homes and shacks to help new General ticket holders and other interested people to learn about operating HF.
